Frequently asked questions
How much does a single-to-three-phase upgrade cost?
It depends on the load you need, the cable run and the board. We assess on site, coordinate the supply change with SP Group, and give you a fixed quote before work starts.
Can you change the switchboard without shutting the building down?
We plan most changeouts in phases or after hours — including overnight works — to limit downtime. Some essential outage is usually needed, and we schedule it with you.
Do I need a Licensed Electrical Worker for this?
Yes. Supply and switchboard work is carried out by our trained team under the supervision of, and certified by, a Licensed Electrical Worker. Our Grade 8 LEW also handles the SP application and EMA endorsement.
I want an EV charger but my supply is full — can you help?
Yes. Older landed homes in particular often need a supply or DB upgrade before an EV charger. We assess this as part of our EV charger service.
How long does it take?
A consumer-unit or DB swap can be a day; full supply upgrades depend on SP Group's lead time, which we manage for you.
