Does a new BTO flat need extra electrical works?
A new BTO flat comes with a basic number of lighting and power points. Most owners add extra sockets, lighting, aircon and data points during renovation to suit how they actually live. We scope exactly what you need and quote it clearly.
Do BTO electrical works need a licensed electrician?
Yes. Electrical works in HDB flats, including new BTO flats, must be carried out by an EMA-licensed electrical worker, and certain works need an HDB renovation permit (usually filed by your contractor or interior designer). BSH is a BCA-registered electrical contractor with in-house Grade 8 LEWs, and wires to SS 638.
When should the electrical works be done during my BTO renovation?
Wiring and points go in early — before tiling, carpentry and painting. Send us your renovation programme and we coordinate with your ID or main contractor so nothing is missed or buried.
How much does it cost to add power points in a BTO flat?
It depends on the number of points and the wiring runs involved. Send us your floor plan or photos and we will give you a clear, itemised quote.
Can you upgrade the BTO distribution board / consumer unit?
Yes. We carry out consumer-unit works with modern RCD protection and balance the circuits for the extra loads you are adding.
Do you work with my interior designer or renovation contractor?
Yes. We coordinate directly with your ID or main contractor so the electrical works fit the renovation programme.
