Frequently asked questions
Do you work for the lab planner or the fit-out contractor?
Either. Most of our lab work comes through design-and-build and fit-out firms; we price from their drawings and coordinate with the lab furniture supplier.
Can you work while the rest of the building stays in use?
Yes. Connections to the building supply and any shutdown are done in the window the building management agrees, under a method statement and permit-to-work.
What do you need to price a lab fit-out?
The layout, the equipment list with the power data where it is known, and the landlord’s fitting-out guide. Anything not yet drawn is listed as provisional.
Who certifies the installation?
Our own EMA-licensed Electrical Technicians design installations up to 150 kVA, and install, test and maintain installations up to 500 kVA. Above their limits we engage an independent Electrical Engineer as project LEW.
