The renewal application has to reach EMA a month before the date printed on your licence, and EMA’s own notice tends to arrive only about two weeks before that. Give us the expiry date and we will start reminding you at around ten weeks — whether or not you ever use BSH.

When we will write to you

  • ~10 weeks before expiry — First note. Time to get a quote, decide, and book the inspection.
  • ~6 weeks before expiry — A nudge, around when EMA's own renewal notice usually lands.
  • ~1 month before expiry — Final call. The application is due with EMA at this point.

The schedule is built backwards from the statutory deadline — Regulation 28(3) requires the application to reach EMA not later than one month before expiry — rather than from the expiry date itself. A reminder that first speaks up at one month out has already used up your runway.
