Worth knowing: the renewal application has to reach EMA one month before this date (Regulation 28(3)), and the inspection has to happen before that again.

What this number is, and is not

We use your supply rating to size the job for pricing. It does not tell either of us whether your installation requires a licence. EMA defines approved load as the total electrical load the installation is designed to handle, and it is set with SP Services - so your main breaker rating is not automatically the same figure.

For context, EMA lists non-domestic electrical installations with approved load exceeding 45kVA among the categories requiring a licence, and publishes the equivalence that 45kVA is equivalent to 63A three-phase at 400 volts. Installations used in hazardous trades, and supply installations for non-domestic purposes, are listed regardless of approved load. Premises used exclusively for domestic purposes are exempt.
